Student Admissions
Greetings from Lighthouse Academy. We invite you to visit our beautiful school campus, see the classes in progress and meet our students and our warm, dedicated staff.
We are certain your child would love the school and thus come to this Process of Admission.
Please contact us for a diagnostic test which fulfils two aspects
1. An orientation where the candidate experiences a day in Lighthouse Academy
and
2. Entry placement level is determined
Rest assured that this is not a typical exam situation. Students need not be anxious as the purpose is to determine what level/grade will challenge them intellectually yet build their confidence.
This typically takes 1 to 1.5 days. The candidate reports to school at 8:30 am like every other student, joins in the morning assembly, takes part in all activities like Physical Education or swimming with recess and lunch hour in between.
Once the results are obtained, we will give you a detailed report of where your child will begin for each core subject. Then if you as a family are satisfied with the outcomes, we invite you to enrol your child as Lighthouse academy student.
We then look forward to welcoming our new Student to Lighthouse Academy, subject to the availability of places.
School Fees
Lighthouse Academy is a non-profit school with the intention of reaching out to the community of students who need an Individualized curriculum for several reasons.
Whatever profit that is made, is churned back to improve and upgrade the school hardware and software facilities.
Other funds come personally from the Director Dr Chew Yu Gee and Lost Paradise Resort, which was intentionally set up to help maintain the grounds and defray the cost of running the school.
Fees are determined based on individual student needs, as reflected by teacher-student ratios, and grades. Kindly contact us for a personalized assessment of your child, enabling us to provide a more accurate quote. The table below provides an estimate of school fees.
*Teacher-student ratios are deliberately kept small to ensure personalised attention is given to each child. However, classes are designed also to maximise interaction among students and teachers. For instance, a class may comprise 6 students, with 2 or 3 teachers which encourages communication and interaction with other classmates.
